Why Fox News’ senior staff is so fired up over Trump: “They are mad as hell”
A Fox News senior staff member was fired over a tweet that said “You better get on the train” and urged others to follow suit, according to a report from Politico.
Fox News senior writer Dan Abrams tweeted out a photo of himself riding a train with a “train full of Trump supporters” and added, “If you have any Trump supporters in your life and are on the fence, please get on this train.
You better get up on it and get on your ass.”
The tweet was retweeted more than 1,000 times.
“I’m a senior staff writer at Fox News and we are mad,” Abrams told Politico.
“It’s just one of those things where we’ve been so fed up that he just has no respect for the fact that he doesn’t respect what we’re doing as reporters.
And we’re really mad that he’s been tweeting at us.”
Abrams was fired the next day.
He later apologized to Fox News staff and said he would take a leave of absence from Fox News for six months to reflect on the tweet and the situation.
