Which of these blue ribbons will be retired by the US Military?
Posted September 12, 2018 07:31:10 The US military’s Blue Ribbon Committee is scheduled to vote this week on a proposal that would reduce the number of blue ribbets the military awards.
The decision will depend on the size of the proposed reduction, as well as whether the proposed savings come from more savings in pay or additional funding for other initiatives, such as the Purple Heart program.
The Blue Ribbon is an award given annually to veterans for their service to their country.
It is the military’s highest honor.
However, a proposal for a proposed cut in the number has generated controversy, as the proposal would have to be voted on by all branches of the military.
It has been proposed that the number should be reduced by half, with the reduction being made up of the number from the military personnel service and the Blue Ribbon personnel service.
While some military leaders, including Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, have said the Blue Ribbons are outdated, others have suggested the service should be abolished altogether.
The proposal has been met with some opposition, with some lawmakers calling it unnecessary and the service’s pay and benefits should be cut to help fund the proposed cuts.
In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, President Donald Trump appointed a new Secretary of the Navy, Vice Admiral Robert Harward, who has said he plans to cut the number in half, while also saying the service is a waste of money.
“The Blue Ribbon has served its purpose.
It’s not going to be replaced, and we should not waste money on a wasteful program that is not going anywhere,” Harward said in a statement.
“We need to save the Blue Ranks for our military veterans.”
It’s unclear when the proposed proposal will be voted upon, but the Pentagon is scheduled for a special session of Congress later this month.
