WWE Diva Lana comments on the news that her dad, Hulk Hogan, is suing for defamation
WWE Divas Lana and her father, Hulk, have filed a lawsuit against the WWE and its corporate partners for defamation, including statements that they made about the Hulk Hogan lawsuit, Recode reported.
Lana, who is the CEO of The Authority, and her husband, Rob Van Dam, were named in a lawsuit filed in September 2016, alleging they breached the terms of their WWE contract and breached their fiduciary duties to her and their two children by falsely claiming that Hogan had engaged in conduct that violated his contract.
The Hogan lawsuit was settled for undisclosed sums, with Hogan agreeing to pay $125,000.
Lane and Van Dam also have a child together, who was not named in the lawsuit, the two were not available for comment.
The lawsuit claims that WWE made a “lack of diligence” in not contacting them after Hogan sued them.WWE is not the first company to file such a lawsuit.
In May, the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear a case involving a video game company’s copyright infringement suit against an online retailer that had been targeted by hackers.

Army, Navy and Marine Corps to share military personnel records
A military court has ordered the release of more than a million documents related to military personnel services in the U.S. military, according to a statement from the Office of the Special Counsel, which is investigating the matter.
The documents are among about 4 million documents that were previously kept secret from the public, including the identities of servicemembers, as well as details of their work, their medical histories and their medical benefits, the statement said.
They are the most extensive records of military personnel held by the Department of Defense, according the statement.
The information, which includes names, addresses, birth dates, Social Security numbers, birth certificates, and other information, was kept secret because the Department had not yet decided on the number of records that would be released.
The release of the documents comes as the Senate Armed Services Committee is considering the nomination of retired Gen. James Mattis, a candidate for secretary of defense, as defense secretary.
The House of Representatives is expected to take up the nomination Tuesday.
Mattis has not yet been nominated.
The military records are among the largest of the hundreds of thousands of documents that have been withheld from public release since a 2014 military court ruling that declared all records should be released in order to protect national security and to protect the rights of individuals.
The court ruled that the secrecy of military records violated the Constitution and the law.
The court ordered the records released in 2016.
In a letter sent to Army Secretary Eric Fanning and the U:P.O., the special counsel said the release is an essential step toward improving transparency and accountability in the military.
“While the Department and its contractors continue to work with the Special Master to expedite the process, the Special Committee is committed to working with the Department to ensure this important information is made available to the public,” said James F. Womack Jr., a former acting U.N. Special Envoy on Torture, who is serving as a member of the special committee.
The records will be released under a public records act.

Trump wants to give every military veteran the option of becoming an Express Personnel Services officer
Trump is seeking to give military veterans the option to become the first members of their branch of the armed forces to become a full-time officer.
The move, the latest in a series of steps to expand access to the military and create more career opportunities for women, was first reported by Axios.
It would allow service members who have served more than one combat mission, and have been injured, or who have lost their legs or arms, to earn up to four years of service on an Express personnel service plan, which is designed to make it easier for people to join the armed services.
The plan would also allow service soldiers to become Express personnel officers, meaning they could work with other federal agencies like the Department of Housing and Urban Development or the Department for Veterans Affairs.
In a press release on Thursday, Trump’s administration touted the plans as part of efforts to modernize the military.
The White House has already released a list of 21 requirements for military service, which would include having a minimum of a high school diploma and having at least a bachelor’s degree, and Trump has also outlined steps to streamline the military’s workforce and expand its operations.
The military’s most recent budget request, for fiscal year 2019, proposed giving the armed service the option for a total of 4,000 more Express personnel officer positions.
In addition to Express personnel, Trump is also asking Congress to give veterans more choice in how to apply for military benefits, including the ability to pay for their own health care and pay for out-of-pocket expenses, which the military has been struggling with.

We have some pretty big names in the tech world, but they’re not all from Australia
The Australian tech scene is full of talent that’s not just Australians.

“We’re a very diverse place, and we have a lot of talent,” said David Lee, co-founder of the tech company TechCrunch.
“There’s always room for talent from around the world to come and work in the country.”
The second factor is the lack of a formal Australian tech passport.
It means the Australian workforce can’t travel overseas and have their Australian skills translated to overseas tech jobs, which is a common occurrence in other countries.
“There’s no formal Australian visa,” said Lee.
“You can’t even get a tourist visa, and you can’t get a work visa for your work.
There’s no visa for those types of things.”
In some ways, Australia has made it easier for people from the region to find work in other industries.
The country has a number of visa categories that give the right of first refusal to people from outside the country.
For example if you’re an Australian citizen and you’ve been in the United Arab Emirates for five years or more, you can apply for a visa for the UAE.
But if you have lived in Australia for less than five years, you have to apply for the visa in Australia.
“If you’ve got a long-standing relationship with Australia, that may not be a bad thing,” said Ben Gaffney, cofounder of TechCrunch, a popular news website.
“If you’re from Australia but your family is in a foreign country, they might be able to get a visa.
But they won’t have access to that.”
But for most people, getting a job in Australia isn’t easy.
“It’s very expensive,” said Gaffey.
“Even if you do it for $100 an hour, you’re still probably looking at about $3,000 to $5,000 for a year.
So it’s definitely a tough sell.”
As well as the money involved, it also comes down to what kind of career you want to pursue.
“In some countries, they’re looking for graduates that have had a successful job and can then move to a better-paying industry,” said Jocelyn McNeill, coauthor of the Australian job search book, Hire or Die.
“And in other places, they want someone who can come and do a bit of freelance work for a while before they decide to make a career move.”
In other words, if you want a career in the business of software, you’ll have to make some hard choices.
The bottom line is that if you are from Australia or have worked in Australia in the past, you are likely to find your way to a job here.
And you’ll be making more money, if not the most.
“It’s a very interesting country,” said McNeill.
“I think there’s a lot more opportunity out there, and it’s very competitive.
You’re competing against a lot bigger countries that are probably more developed.”
What to doIf you are an Australian tech worker and you are looking for work, here are some things you should know:When applying for a job, be sure you have all of the relevant documents in place.
This includes a passport, work permit, work visa, permanent residence card and a work contract.

“For software, I’d definitely recommend being a web developer,” said Jason Pendergast, CEO of tech company Cottom, who has been in Australia since 2013.
“When you’re in a software company, you should be able in the end to make more money than people in other jobs.”
If you have a degree, you need to apply directly for a work permit.
“That’s the easiest way to get into Australia,” said Pender, “and it’s probably the best way for someone to get an Australian work permit if they don’t have a visa.”
